On 10 SEPTEMBER 1885 the OHINEMURI COUNTY was granted local government status, breaking away from the then 10 year old Thames County.
10 SEPTEMBER 1985 started a year in which various functions were planned to mark this milestone. Full details of the celebrations will appear in next year’s ‘JOURNAL’.
